About Me

Hi and welcome to my blog!

I have always struggled with asthma. When I was two, I had my first attack and have been having them ever since. Im 24 now and asthma is still a daily issue for me. In November of 2010 however, I decided I was tired of letting asthma control my life and decide what I can and cannot do. As a result, I made the outrageous decision to sign up for my first half marathon. When I started my training plan, I'd never completed more than a full mile without whipping out my trusty albuterol and calling it quits.

Since then, I've completed five half marathons, participated in several 5ks, and completely fell in love with the sport of running and those who love it with me. Now, I don't let a little (okay a sometimes a lot) of huffing and puffing stop me anymore. I want to prove to myself that I can do anything as long as I put my mind to it.

I live in Oklahoma and have great friends and family that inspire me everyday to be the best version of me that I can be. I don't know what I'd do without them and their amazing support.I got married in August of 2013 to a fellow runner (and amazing man!) named Kevin, then in November of the same year I gave birth to our daughter Audrey.  I try to live my life laughing every day and looking for the positive in everyone and every situation.

On my blog, I hope to share some of my stories and maybe some tips for my fellow wheezers and wannabe athletes as I learn to run the 13.1. Wish me luck! I’m going to need it!
